Filzmoos in Salzburg
One of the most beautiful mountain villages in Austria
The name "Filzmoos" comes from its once muscoid region. The "Gosaukamm" with the distinctive "Bischofsmütze" (2.458m) belongs to the "Dachstein"- Massif. The southern and western parts of Filzmoos are counted among the Salzburg Schist-Alps. The inhabitants of Filzmoos saved lots of objects of their history in parts of religion, culture, living together and hospitality till today. They are under protection of their miraculous image, the "Filzmooser Kindl" (a catholic statue of Jesus as a child). The impressing mountain-setting of Filzmoos awakes the desire of hiking in summer and skiing in winter. But Filzmoos has even more to offer- for example its adventure-park with in- and outdoor swimming pool, sauna facilities, massages, bowling alley, climbing wall and much more.
